EXHIBITION CONCEPT
SOMEWHERE “Where we will grow together again, somewhere we can look back to. Somewhere you and I will find once more. Near that tree, there was a small canal on that lawn. The place where I grew up used to fuel so many imaginations. At some point, it was my command base where I played soldier or knight. The bush over there was where I built a house and bunkers with my friends.
That place has completely changed nowadays. There are no longer time-travelling ships that I can take back to experience the gentle air. When I look back on it today, I have no imagination left to embrace.
The space where I am right now no longer provides happiness and freedom. This area is where I sit and stare at the small screen, scrolling through various stories, trying to pull myself toward new spaces that pass through my eyes. This makes me think back and remember the spaces that used to exist there. I’m slowly being destroyed and almost forgetting my own stories of running around, pretending to play with things around me.
‘Somewhere’ is reflected on canvases to expresses the story of current imagination with the reality of the past that no longer exists and the thought of a future where we may be able to find it again. Will I see it again? This notion is transferred onto a series of works, somewhere that will allow fond memories to flourish again.”
‘Somewhere ที่ไหนสักแห่ง’ ที่เราจะได้เติบโตด้วยกันอีกครั้ง และ ที่ไหนสักแห่ง ที่เราหวนหา อยากจะกลับไปได้อีกครั้ง ที่ไหนสักแห่ง ที่ คุณ หรือ เรา จะได้กลับไปอีกครั้ง…..สนามหญ้านั้น ต้นไม้ต้นนั้น คูคลองเล็ก ๆ นั้น ซึ่งเคยเป็นสถานที่ ๆ เราเคยอยู่ตอนที่กำลังเติบโต ที่ ๆ เคยมอบจินตนาการมากมาย ที่ ๆ เคยเป็นฐานบัญชาการให้เราเล่นเป็นทหาร เป็นอัศวิน และพุ่มไม้ตรงนั้นที่เราเคยปลูกเป็นบ้านหลังเล็ก ๆ เป็นที่หลบภัยกับเพื่อนๆ
ทุกวันนี้ที่แห่งนั้นได้เปลี่ยนแปลงไปแล้ว ไปเป็นสิ่งใหม่ พื้นที่ตรงนี้ไม่มียานให้เราขึ้นเพื่อเดินทางข้ามเวลากลับไปอีกแล้ว ไม่เหลือความใจดีจากอากาศแสนบริสุทธิ์ จินตนาการที่เราเคยโอบกอดได้เมื่ออยู่ตรงนี้ได้จางหายไปแล้ว
พื้นที่ ๆ เราอยู่ขณะนี้ ไม่สามารถ ให้ความสุขหรืออิสระภาพกับเราได้อีกต่อไปแล้ว เราได้แต่นั่งจ้องดูจอเล็ก ๆ ที่พยายามฉุดลากเราให้เข้าหาพื้นที่ใหม่ ๆ ผ่านสายตาความทรงจำในพื้นที่แห่งความสุข กำลังถูกทำลายลงไปอย่างช้า ๆ จนเราแทบจะลืมเลือนนิทานที่เราเคยเล่าให้ตัวเองฟังสมัยที่เราวิ่งเล่นกับจินตนาการไปแล้ว
‘Somewhere ที่ไหนสักแห่ง’ เป็นผลงานบนผืนผ้า ที่เล่าถึงพื้นที่และเรื่องราวของจินตนาการในยุคปัจจุบัน ความเป็นจริงที่กลับมาจากในอดีตซึ่งจางหายไปแล้ว และความคิดเกี่ยวกับอนาคต ที่พยายามจะขวนขวายหามันมาให้ได้ จากที่ไหนสักแห่ง ที่ ๆ เราสงสัย ว่าจะหามันได้พบอีกไหม ผลงานชุด ‘Somewhere ที่ไหนสักแห่ง’ จะเป็นความทรงจำดีๆ ที่สร้างได้อีกครั้ง
